How to create a shared photo album for an event
Updated by Scan & Snap
Choose a tool your guests can use without signing up, create an album named after your event, decide whether guests can see each other's photos, share it by QR code and link, remind people the next day, and save everything before the album closes.
1. Pick a tool that suits your guests
The more people have to install or sign up for, the fewer will share. If everyone uses the same service already, its shared albums may be enough. For a mixed group, use something that works in a phone browser. Here's how the options compare.
2. Decide who sees what
If you want a shared experience, let guests browse. For a more controlled album, such as one with children in it, or a surprise, use upload-only so that only you can see the photos. In Scan & Snap this is a setting on your dashboard, and you can change it at any time.
3. Share it in more than one way
Print a QR code for people in the room, and send the link to people in group chats, or anyone who couldn't make it. Table cards and a sign make it hard to miss.
4. Remind people, twice
Mention it during the event, then send the link the following day, when people are looking back through their photos. Here's a message you can copy: "Thanks for coming yesterday! If you took any photos, you can add them here, with no app needed: [your link]"
5. Save everything before it closes
Note the date your album closes, and download what you want to keep before then. A free Scan & Snap album stays online for 7 days. Paid plans stay online for a year, and let you download everything in one ZIP.
