How to make your sign
- Add your details. Pick the event type and we'll suggest wording. Change anything you like.
- Choose a design. Classic, Modern, Blush or Party. The preview updates as you type.
- Make it. Your album and its QR code are created straight away, with no account.
- Print it. Use the A4 sign or four A6 table cards on a home printer, or save it as a PDF for a print shop.
What makes people actually scan a sign
Most guests walk past a code that doesn't say what it's for. Say what happens in plain words ("add your photos to our album") and mention that no app is needed, because that's what puts people off. Then put the sign where people stop and wait: the entrance, the bar, the table where they sit down. One sign by the door is easy to miss. A card on every table isn't.
Size matters too. A code on a table card needs to be at least 3cm wide, and one on a sign read from a metre away needs about 10cm. Our QR code size guide has the full table, and if you'd like other words, there's more in our wedding sign wording examples.
How this differs from a normal QR code generator
A generator gives you a code that points to a link you already have. This sign's code opens a real upload page, and the photos land in your private album. There's nothing else to set up, and you don't have to connect Google Drive or ask guests to sign in. If you'd rather design your own, you can download the code as an image from your dashboard and use it in Canva or on your own stationery.
Printing tips
Print one copy first and scan it with your own phone from where a guest would be standing. Matt paper or card is easier to scan than glossy, particularly under bright lights. If your printer can't print to the edge, choose "fit to page" in the print settings. To send it to a print shop, choose "Save as PDF" as your printer.
Not just for weddings
The sign works for any get-together, from a birthday party or communion to the debs, a club awards night or a company event.
Questions
Is the QR code sign maker really free?
Yes. Making and printing the sign costs nothing, and there's no sign-up. The sign comes with a free album for up to 50 photos, kept for 7 days from when you create it. Paid plans from €29 once add unlimited photos, videos and a year online.
Will my QR code stop working?
On a free album, yes: the album and its code stop working 7 days after you create it. If your event is more than a week away, upgrade before you print, or make the sign in the final week. On a paid plan the album stays online for a year from when you upgrade.
Do guests need an app or an account?
No. Guests point their normal phone camera at the code and upload from their browser, on iPhone or Android.
Can I print it at home?
Yes. It's set up for A4, either as one sign or as four A6 table cards. You can print it directly, or choose Save as PDF to send it to a print shop.
Can I use my own design instead?
Yes. Your dashboard lets you download the QR code as an image, which you can add to a Canva design or your own stationery.
